🦞 🆕 New Releases 25 Aug 23 🆕 🦞

Seems to be a busy week this week. What’s on your radar?

Open Mike Eagle - another triumph of ghetto engineering

Very much enjoyed last year’s ‘Component System…’ album so looking forward to this one from US rapper.

Emeralds - Does It Look Like I’m Here?

An all-timer for me - this is a remastered and extended reissue.

jaimie branch - Fly or Die Fly or Die Fly or Die ((world war))

Posthumous album from the young jazz trumpeter who died last year.

Drab Majesty - An Object In Motion

Half an hour and four tracks - is that an LP or an EP? Psychedelic, shoe-gazey brilliance.

Spanish Love Songs - No Joy

Everyone’s favourite misery pop punk band have beefed up their synth levels and taken influence from the 80s. I expect everyone to be singing along by lunch

Drab Majesty - An Object In Motion

For an even bigger hit of synths, Drab Majesty are back. Melancholic synth pop.

There’s loads of other stuff out today, but I’m going to bed now. Goodnight.

It’s Dadi Freyr

Long-awaited follow-up to the excellent Jaguar. I dated a zookeeper once but turned out she was a Jaguar.

Jemini the Gifted One & Danger Mouse - Born Again

Following cult classic ‘Ghetto Pop Life’ in 2003, these made a follow-up in 2004 which never saw the light of day.

Anthemic emo punkers go full 80s Springsteen apparently.

Listened to the last album SO much. Lockdown would have been a lot different without it.

The new Blut Aus Nord is released today. The second in his Disharmonium trilogy. To be honest I’m less of a fan of the more dissonant black metal, I much preferred the more melodic metal of 2019’s Hallucinogen. But I will no doubt still be submitting myself to another Lovecraftian nightmare at some stage today!

Also, Nordicwinter release an album of frigid atmo depressive black metal, This Mournful Dawn
