Inferi - Revenant
God is an Astronaut - Epitaph
Janelle

The Janelle album is fucking outrageous.

Also looking forward to Boss Keloid (psych/doom sort of stuff), Wiley- Godfather II (grime), The Armed- Only Love (hardcore), Power Trip- Opening Fire (comp of their early material remastered. Thrash/hardcore)

Only on the first track but already this is directly up my street…cheers for the heads up. Japandroids a great shout as comparison and just heard a guitar line that rod Jones could have written!

Oh man, I need to get this.

They are a cracking little band

Same band, different brand.

Arndales - Shops

Not sure if this was officially out last week or this week. Fall-esque rocky Post-Punk.

I’m worried for this sites server if SP ever announce a Machina re-issue (available on 8 Discs, 10 LPs / 12 GB Download, 87 cassettes).

I’ve listened to the Half Waif album about six times now. Really love it. At some point I’ll take it off repeat and listen to Grouper. But not yet.

If only!

This giraffes? Giraffes! is fucking excellent. Bit less unhinged but no less enjoyable.

I didn’t like Dire Straits the first time around

It’s very good!

I have the vinyl on order and it is supposedly out next Friday. CD not until June. Already out to stream.

Can’t understand that at all.

LLNN have a new album for anyway for people who like post rock and hardcore.

There’s a new WaqWaq Kingdom EP out today:

Think someone posted them in last year’s Bangers thread?

Janelle Monáe with one of the album’s of the year here

Guilty. Thanks for the heads up.

So far, from all I have listened to so far this week, including Grouper, Janelle, Elysia Crampton, etc., the album that has really caught my attention is Elina Duni’s first solo album, Partir. Albanian-Swiss, Elina is described as ‘conceptual art/contemporary folk’, which sounds vaguely dreadful. But this is not vaguely dreadful at all - in fact, it is quite beautiful - whatever you think of this style, she really is a terrific vocalist …

Loved Slop. Kinda wish it was on there though.
