Lucy Dacus - Forever is a Feeling

4th album from one of the Boys. Washed in hushed tones apparently, so taken a more restrained approach to the production.

Deafheaven - Lonely People With Power

Newest release from blackgaze gang. Getting good press and the singles were excellent.

Amenra - With Fang and Claw

First of 2x EPs from Belgian gloomy post metal crew released today. This is the more abrasive of the two, akin to their earlier sound

Amenra - De Toorn

More ambient and brooding of the two releases, very much a continuation of the fantastic De Doorn album from a few years ago.

Great Grandpa - Patience, Moonbeam

First album in what feels like forever. Been really looking forward to this one. Beyond indie rock, beyond alt country. Think Big Thief and you’ll get somewhere there. A really special album that’s been a long time coming

I’ve released the second single from my new vocal project, No Slugs - an off-kilter electro missive on environmental collapse.

Timed it well to clash with Lucy Dacus and Deafheaven :upside_down_face:

Let’s not let a new release by M****** and S*** tarnish an otherwise ridiculously good release day.

PG goes country

Teitanblood - From The Visceral Abyss

Uncompromisingly heavy blackened death metal out of Spain.

Free Range - Lost & Found

2nd album from Chicago based alt country artist. Strays some where towards a bit of slowcore on Hardly.

Destroyer - Dan’s Boogie

Its nine songs imagine Bejar as a lounge singer, a hustler, and, at times, a supporting character in his own fantasies in nine all-timer Destroyer songs that have the urgency of a state secret hiding in the mind of a tortured spy.

Yawners - SUPERBUCLE

Madrid based project with their third album. Exploring the poppier side of 90s alt rock and bands like the Beths and Snail Mail

Big day for Drag City with these four all out today.

Eiko Ishibashi - Antigone

Art-pop from the Japanese artist. Been looking forward to this latest one from her.

“Antigone artfully stirs together jazz, musique concrète, vintage synth gear and chamber pop, featuring additional instrumentation from Jim O’Rourke, among others”.

Whitney Johnson & Lia Kohl - For Translucence

Entrancing collection of viola and cello improvisations.

Mess Esque - Jay Marie, Comfort Me

Third album from the Australian duo Helen Franzmann (McKisko) and Mick Turner (Dirty Three, Tren Brothers). Art pop, I reckon.

Bag People - Bag People

80s Chicago post-punk/no wave band, these tracks compiled from tapes lost for 40 years.

Jan Jelinek - faitiche edition no.2

Experimental. Recording of 2022 Berlin ‘Jan Jelinek plays The Carpenters’ ‘concert for four loudspeakers’. Towards the end of the 1st half, the original (Carpenters) source sample emerges from the dense arrangement of processed loops and reveals its identity, a moment that recalls awakening from deep hypnosis. The 2nd half of the performance zooms in further on the source material, leading to a complete dissolution of any referentiality".

Sounds very much my bag, but annoyingly it looks like a cassette only release which is sold out, with just a couple of excerpts digitally available.

VÍZ - Danse des Larmes

Second solo album from Hungarian Transylvanian artist based on sketches commissioned for a theater production. “She pulls from industrial music, dark ambient, Eastern European folk music and vintage horror soundtracks, smudging sludgy drones, dense electro-acoustic textures and her own breathtaking choral vocals until the roots vanish almost completely, leaving only ghostly traces behind.”

Yukimi - For You

Soul/pop. Debut solo album for Gothenberg artist Yukimi, the singer from Little Dragon. On Ninja Tune.

DJ Python - I Was Put On This Earth

Inventive, trippy, downtempo stuff, with mainly vocal tracks. Besos Robados with Isabella Lovestory is excellent.

Unspecified Enemies: Romance in the Age of Adaptive Feedback

Kinda machine funk. FFO Barker.

OHYUNG: You Are Always on My Mind
