🐄 🆕 New Releases 29 Sep 23 🆕 🦞

Is every week stacked now? Another huge one…

Armand Hammer - We Buy Diabetic Test Strips

New one from billy woods and ELUCID - probably my favourite rap collective so looking forward to this one.

Jeremiah Chiu - In Electric Time

Music from the Aland Islands was a big favourite last year - this is his solo follow up

Greg Foat & Eero Koivistoinen - Feathers

Already responsible for two of my albums of 2023, the jazz pianist comes up with yet another, this time with Finnish saxophonist.

KMRU - Dissolution Grip

Kenyan ambient field recordist - one of my absolute favourites.

There’s a bunch of well-known artists releasing records today but I’ll leave those for others. Big one for me is…

Melenas - Ahora

Their previous record was in my top 5 of the year. This time they’ve dialled down the wistful garage rock and turned up the organ-driven motorik beat.

Slow Pulp - Yard

Country-tinged indie

Luggage - Hand is Bad

Chicago band sounding like other heavy Chicago bands

Equipment - Alt. Account

Poppy Emo

'68 – Yes, And…

Album 4 of, I suspect, heavy bluesy post-hardcore

Colin Miller - Haw Creek

Electronics crackle and fade into the background. A pump organ swirls around. An insular record from a one man project, recorded in their house, from producer and contributer to mj Lenderman, Wednesday and Indigo de Souza records.

New EP from Wolves In The Throne Room

Atmospheric nature infused BM

Rome Streetz - Noise Kandy 5

Atmospheric street inflected rap, featuring Joey and Boldy. Always dig RS even if I don’t think he’s put out one great project yet

Lol done in post 1 already

Excited by this. Still not sure they ever captured the rawness from the debut on the previous two albums, but I’m a big fan of Scogin doing the hits

Slow Pulp is sounding excellent :+1:

Filth Is Eternal - Find Out
FKA Fucked And Bound. Noisy, grindy, nasty hardcore.

Harms Way - Common Suffering
I think their singer is a meme. Metallic hardcore for people who like to throw their arms around and spin kick and stuff.

Grove Street - The Path To Righteousness
Thrashy punky hardcore, reminds me a bit of bands like Iron Regan, Power Trip and Comeback Kid or something like that. Fun fact: their drummer Josh is an excellent barber. Proper hardcore, professional haircuts.

Obligatory pop punk post.

Green Day - Dookie (30th Anniversary Edition)
The best pop punk album of all time and probably one of the best albums ever made (don’t @ me) gets the reissue treatment. Lots of demos and live tracks for nerds to plough through and for everyone else, a reminder to listen to and appreciate some phenomenal songwriting.
