Not sure if this is today as a track appeared on my release radar but nice little bowerbirds ep

Echo Collective - The See Within

Their reworking of Radioheads Amnesiac album was creatively done and now this is the groups first album of original compositions. One for the fans of ‘A Winged Victory for the Sullen’ with whom Echo Collective have been a collaborator with in the past.

New release from Dutch black metallers Fluisteraars, a compilation of their first two demos. Unsurprisingly rawer and less polished than their release Bloem from earlier this year but still worth checking out.

Sun Ra Akestra is really good.

The new TOBACCO is really really fucking good.

Not got round to Oneohtrix yet.

Had one go through the Eels album. It’s not done a lot to rekindle my old love for them, although it had a couple of moments I quite liked. I didn’t feel a huge desire to give it a 2nd go but will do at some point. But it all sounds a bit too comfortable to me so far.

Kwiaty is so good, You may have missed his album ‘music for film’ which came out back in March - also without vocal and more straightforward (less glitchy) modern classical than this one - but excellent none the less, very chilled.

this always reminds me a bit of the old hamlet ads (air on the g string)

I can’t remember if I listened and it just bounced off me, or if I haven’t listened. Will give it a(nother) go!

I’ve been meaning to recommend to you to listen to Delmer Darion and an album they released a couple of weeks ago. Lots of different sounds on it, which I’ve been loving. This song could almost possibly have worked on Kwiaty I reckon:

The first song on the new Eels album is what I dislike about him the most (boo, do do do, it’s truuueee). Just such lazy predictable rhymes and nothingness.
I’ve only had one listen through, but the rest seemed better, although I wasn’t paying full attention. There was one song that I definitely really liked (Dark and Dramatic), so will go back and give it a few more goes.

My mate has released another track of hyper sexual electro pop, as is his wont

I’m not overly enthused about any releases this week, will likely be going back to last week’s bonanza over the weekend, but going to check out some of the above, and these:

Bakongo - 3 x 2 EP I’m a big fan of the recent Livity Sound output, and this stripped back rhythmic percussive tribal funk is really doing it for me this morning.

Paty Cantu - La Mexicana - There’s no shortage of Latin American influence in modern pop, but this has a pleasingly retro feel - the production is firmly rooted in the pop music of the 90s.

Busta Rhymes - Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God Not sure I’m expecting great things here as never been a big fan of his solo output but I do like enough of his guest verses to give it a cursory spin.

Wizkid - Made in Lagos Going to try to look past the vocoder and see if I can enjoy this as most of the other afrobeats aspects are up my street.

The Alchemist - The Food Villain - culinary beats from the producer du jour.

New Fort Romeau :heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

awesome - I actually heard wildering earlier in the year and had it on a list but hadn’t realised the album released. That tracks great, thanks.

For me Kwiaty’s one of those albums directly linked to a massive life experience, so an album I’m always gonna come back too.

Not too much in this week for me, but I’m enjoying Sun Ra Arkestra. Had zero expectations for it, as as good as they are live, and as talented musicians as they have, in terms of making new music there’s little to go on. Sounds like a very solid and enjoyable tribute to the spirit and tradition of the band.

Will give OPN a listen too.

The title track and the first single are really, really piss poor. Barely even phoning it in. The rest is pleasant enough though and it is slightly more varied than other recent albums.

Oh wow
