Enjoyed the first track of this also, so it’s on the list. Thanks!

Haven’t got much from Sun June yet.

Although Frederik and Meril have easily been my favourites this week.

Haven’t heard the album but loved the singles so I’ll be checking this out.

Here’s a late entry. FFO Shellac, Erase Errata, the late 90s.

I know it’s not a particularly envelope-pushing or groundbreaking record, and it may not end up in too many end of year lists, but I’m really enjoying this new Staves album from last Friday.

They have a knack for writing a really catchy folk/indie-pop tune with some lovely harmonies and instrumentals, which is perfect for the current white, wintery landscape.

I’ve never really been tempted to check them out but the title track, which is just a brilliant single in its own right, lured me in.

It’s still all somewhat understated but all the individual parts - the pitch-shifted looping backing vocals, the rolling drum beat, the soft and perfectly judged lead vocal, the teasing guitar licks - build up to beautifully conclude the track for a really satisfying whole.

I reckon if you really enjoyed the HAIM record from last year then you’ll like this too.

I have a couple of their earlier albums; if you’re in the mood for some folky three-part female vocal harmony they’re pretty hard to beat.

Yeah this has taken me by surprise a bit. Keep going back to it, absolutely lovely harmonies and feel like Congleton has brought some of the early St Vincent production to it?

Thanks for this - loved Retro Spankees back when they released their first album and really enjoyed this.

If you haven’t heard their second album get on it, it’s fantastic.

Will do - didn’t even realise it was a thing - there was a long gap between releases.

Loving this one.

Sparse, simply, angry, brutal and brilliant.

Pretty damn confronting at times - but she has a way with it

If you haven’t already check out Sarah’s old band Batrider - love them
