New Confidence Man x DJ Seinfeld
Meursault - Meursault
Sad Scottish indie folk chap is back with a new album. Love to hear his aching voice.
(My pesky Spotify Copy Link option no longer works (other than for WhatsApp), I now have to click More and then the Copy URL option to get a âproperâ link, sigh!)
Read the book and really liked it (why do I feel the need to say that?) but I couldnât get through a whole episode, despite 2 attempts. Thought it was a bit of a mess. Admire Shane Meadowsâs commitment to his Thomas Turgoose project though.
Gazelle Twin - Then You Run
New TV soundtrack album
Absolutely adored it. Will be reading the book in a few weeksâ time (itâs on the pile!) so will listen to the soundtrack today for the full multimedia experience!
The Raven Age - Blood Omen
Heavy metal nepo babies (their guitarist is Steve Harris from Iron Maidenâs son). Saw them supporting Anthrax a few years ago and they absolutely sucked. Kerrang gave this one a positive review and compared it to Killswitch Engage. Probably wonât listen to it just wanted to do a post snarkily calling them nepo babies.
Better Lovers - God Made Me An Animal EP
Four tracks from the Every Time I Die / Greg Puciato metal supergroup. The single sounded exactly like the sum of its parts, and was fucking great.
Both the new PJ Harvey and ANOHNI albums are under 45 mins long, more of this please.
Nice drake tribute comp out. Featuring Fontaineâs, self esteem etc
Tony Allen & Adrian Younge - Jazz is Dead 18
2018 session with the late, great drummer is the latest release on the dependable JID jazz label and something of a surprise given he died shortly after volume 1 was released.
Donât know much about them but this little dragon album sounding nice
Shit!Garvey has nailed Saturday sun. One of my fave nick Drake songs so was worried but here I am paused.
Canât decide whether the ANOHNI record is really fucking boring or not.
EDIT: yes it is
I both can and have.
Thank you
Hewg day for new tunes imho. PJ Harvey being the big one, but also new Alice Phoebe Lou - loved her last record, sitting somewhere in a sort of jazzy/trancey but airy take on indiepop with a heck of a voice.
Zaumme - Parfum
Donât know much about this one but I like the sound of it from the press blurb. FFO: Malibu, Space Afrika, Voice Actor
