New EP on Disintegration State from Fragile X, who heads up the Bricolage label. Very dark, brooding industrial ambient. Basically the sound of the aftermath of the apocalypse when everything has gone eerie. I also contributed a remix which I made while listening to a lot of Ministry…

This is out today at some stage. Been looking forward to this one, their debut from last year is amazing (although I only heard it at the start of this one). To quote their page;

“Like strokes of inspiration, exquisite guitar melodies weave a fluent plethora of moods and emotions, showcasing a heavy classical influence. Undulant blast beats and biting screams serve as a counterpoint to pristine atmospheres and ethereal choirs, an obstinate reminder of the finite nature of man and his creations.”

New M Ward sounding like a nice gentle haze for this morning. Feels a bit more subtle than some of his stuff in the last decade, and better for it. Would love to fall for another one of his records like I did for Transfiguration of Vincent.

Will give Empress Of and Lovely Eggs a go later

Really enjoying that Fragile X ep. Stellar industrial nightmare electronica. It’s out on [checks notes] Disinterested Plaice records? Not sure who they are but I think they’re onto something.

Cardiff’s finest psych/stoner/shoegaze/alt-rock band Obey Cobra released an album yesterday - they’re well worth a listen. I miss seeing them in a Red Stripe soaked hellpit so much right now.

Also looking forward to checking out records by Beggar (absolutely filthy and brutal sludge metal), Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, and Capac (haunted ambient with spoken word stuff out on worriedaboutsatan’s label).
