I’ve got the grey vinyl and that has the etching (and fancy tracing paper effect)

Yeah, mine has the etching on side D too.
The splatter effect on the records is actually very subtle, which I like.

I’ve had the new one on repeat since it came out. It’s been the soundtrack to the election for me.

I’m at work until 8pm. Really looking forward to playing it loud on the earphones on the way back home. A brilliant celebratory album.

Sounds like Alex Cameron

Has anyone got this?

Thinking about getting it for my brother for Xmas, is it something akin to Revolution in the Head, but for Bruce?

Was debating picking this up yesterday but decided not to. Was closer to 50 quid at Waterstones though

Think I’ve flicked through it in a bookshop. If it’s the one I’m thinking of, it’s nothing like as in-depth as Revolution In The Head, more of a big glossy book of photos with a paragraph or two on each song

Did it look like it might be interesting for a big Bruce fan, or just a money spinner for people who need a Christmas present for Bruce fans?

Probably the latter. FWIW the best Springsteen book I’ve read is this one, but it’s just a regular paperback and maybe not that ‘gifty’. It’s good though.

If you want more of big book with pictures kind of thing, then the best bet is probably the one Bruce himself did called Songs, but I’m not sure it’s that easy to find anymore

Cheers for the recommendation :+1:, Songs was the one that had an accompanying compilation back in the 90s, right?

Reading his autobiography atm, lovely stuff so far

That Waterstones site also has this one, which looks like a similar thing first book you linked to, and now I’m not sure which one of the two it was I had a look at.

yeah, it came out about the same time as the Tracks box set I think

This is a great read by Rolling Stone writer Brian Hiatt with some interesting and in depth stuff on all his released songs. Not overly gushing either.

Looking at the images on Amazon id be very pleased with this as a gift.

Perhaps not so in depth as revolution but looks fun and readable…be a nice Xmas gift

This is the one I meant to link to a couple of posts above this - that post is a bit meaningless without it, so thanks!

No worries. It is a great read actually. One to dip in and out of, even for a bit of an obsessive. Half the price of the one in the OP (though that is on my chrimbo list too!)
