so that was a week ago. still a bit tender but pretty much fine. thought i’d try some more to see how it went… BAD IDEA. instant searing pain.

so yeah… think i’ve fucked something up. probably a muscle strain? fuckin sit ups man…

I’m doing reasonably well eating properly through the day, drinking water and doing exercise but the second it hits 9.30 I’m all about the snacks undoing my good work.

Make yourself a rule, no eating after 8pm

Shouldn’t you have a strong core from compound lifts anyway? Can’t understand how sit-ups could do big damage? I’m not an expert but might I suggest not doing anymore?

Out for my weekly pint(s), but doing well on the losing weight / running thing. On the last week of couch to 5k and lost 3 stone since August :grimacing:

WTAF?! How is that even possible?

dunno really. I guess I was starting from a high weight and had gastro for a few weeks and then have been just Uber vigilant with diet minus one day of gluttony per week. I’ve definitely lost too much too quickly, though. Trying to rectify that as I started feeling really low on energy last week.

Don’t know if there’s a separate running thread, but I’m not a proper runner anyway, so I’m going to post here. I just had my first go at running 5k - I meant to do the local Parkrun, but I realised at 10am yesterday that it starts at 9am on Saturday not Sunday as I’d previously thought. Probably best to do my first one on my own anyway, and yesterday really wasn’t the weather for going out anywhere.

So anyway, I went out this morning instead, without any expectation. I haven’t got a feel for how far 5k is or how long I ought to be taking. I thought I’d be happy enough if I made it in less than 45 minutes. In the end, including stopping to take a photo of a fallen down tree, I did 3.2 miles in a few seconds under half an hour. I’m well chuffed with that.

feel a lot happier about switching my workouts around so I do my lifting/callisthenics on the light cardio day as opposed to right after my run. was getting to the point where I was just spending the entire run worrying about going to the gym after as opposed to just enjoying it.

Cardio then lifting isn’t really the best order tbh

yeah, so much better doing the lifting and then going for a swim.

I did my mid-week weigh-in after football tonight (normally my lightest of the week) and I’m back to about 14st (which is nearly as low as I got before the summer.)

anyone take colagen supplements? Been throwing some in my coffee for about 3 weeks now and think my joints feel a bit bitter? obviously this is mainly because I’ve lost a crapload of weight, but idk. gonna keep taking it anyway.
