Less internet (already improving).

More reading.

Less pressure to make music in spare time - I’ve had very little between work and 3 young kids and just end up feeling broken by the time evening comes, then beat myself up about sitting around watching Netflix / gaming instead of creating stuff. It’s only now, taking my first proper break since this time last year, that I realise how tired and stressed I am. I need to give myself a fucking break and not try to be ‘on’ all the time, or at least try to be a little less all/nothing in my approach to everything. I need to remember that it’s something that’s enjoyable and not some sort of weird obligation.

Eat a wider variety of cheese.

standard ones I never do

  • read more books
  • less internet
  • try and make some proper music

new ones

  • been split across two teams at work in an attempt to develop my skills, but it hasn’t really panned out as I thought it would and makes work more stressful, realised I just want and easy life and not interested in progressing so just gonna bin it off
  • try and wrestle back my attention span so I can at least enjoy my spare time more
  • try a bit of travelling, always pretended I have no interest in this but really just dont think I could do it on my own, but after a year indoors it will be nice to see the world before it burns. might try and base it around some festivals or something

I wanna get back down to my pre-corona weight …though that’s more of a goal than a resolution

Can think of a few things that I should resolve to do in 2021 but I’m unlikely to follow through so meh

I get so sucked into wanting to use New Year’s resolutions to change a load of stuff I don’t like, but I never follow through on them. So I’m not sure yet. I’ll probably make a bunch relating to being more mindful of how I spend my time, but they probably won’t happen.

I’m a bit scared to resolve anything given how successful this year’s main one was (socialise less)

My other one, lose weight - actually made progress on this until the panny d hit.

I’m gonna say:

  • complete couch to 5k / eat less sugar (rather than just ‘lose weight’)
  • spend less time online
  • write more
  • read 12 books
  • stop fretting about doing things and just do them

This is a good one. Have started setting myself targets on how long a book should take to read. Concentration span etc

Get a marine licence.
Go to New Zealand.

(Continue to) read more books written by women than men. Done it for the past two years, after a lifetime of the complete opposite.

Do some kind of volunteering (never done any before. Found a site where you can select from different options, so I’ve just put myself forward for some food bank parcel packing one morning a week. Just waiting to see if they’ll accept me)

Try and be a bit more vegan (for environmental reasons mainly. Have already cut back, and am already veggie, so I don’t have a particular goal in mind, but find full-on vegan too hard at the moment).

And I guess I should do some kind of exercise, seeing as I WFH all the time and need more excuses to go outside. Maybe I need to create some kind of spreadsheet to log my exercise in an attempt to actually do some…
