As a non-musician (but marketing person within the arts) I just want to say that YOU ALL need to get a newsletter up and running ASAP and get in touch if you need my whole ted talk on why and how <3

What’s a good place to have one given substack seem to be ethically uhhh dubious?

I’m gonna start up one for the music and one for the sauce at some point. What’s the cheapest method these days? Ideally free. Actually ideally they’d pay me to use it but that feels unrealistic.

I use Mailchimps free tier and it does the job. There’s some automation you can get if you pay that would be nice but I’ve managed without

Probably not so useful as a substack alternative though @guntrip… I use wordpress for my site which can do the whole blog thing, but don’t know if it ticks all the same boxes as substack, i.e. letting you take subscriptions and stuff

If you’re comfortable with a bit of a more hands-on wordpress based solution, I would recommend FluentCRM! I’ve used that and had incredible delivery/opening rates and so on. You need to set in up in WP backend yourself, but I could manage so I’m sure you’d be fine too.

With Wordpress you can get a subscriptions plugin through WooCommerce.

I just need to consistently write a newsletter now. And do enough stuff to warrant a regular newsletter. How hard could that be?
