Yeah a guy that has given millions of dollars and so much of his time to local charities and the city of New Orleans over the last 15 years. Total “shit bag”.

That’s Campbell confirmed at Detroit then, according to my NFL app notifications

Also Philip Rivers announced his retirement. Sleep tight, strange trash-talking cowboy man.

Wentz to the Colts then?

That’s a surprise, thought he’d carry on for another year. He was playing more or less well enough, thought it might be worth another shot at making the playoffs.

Going to be quite the QB carousel this off-season, should be mildly diverting.

If I was Lions GM and the Colts offered up a first for Stafford I’d bite their hand off.

Given that he’s also a guy who did this

This

And this

I don’t feel especially inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Feels like the Cowboys are going to regret missing their chance to pay Dak last year, his market value will have gone through the roof.

Depends if Brees retires this year because he’s definitely first ballot and they don’t like doing multiple players at the same position in the same year.

Jeez just looked up and this year’s class finalists include Calvin Johnson, Jared Allen, Charles Woodson and Peyton Manning. Doesn’t feel like they’re 5 years out of the league

He won 5 playoff games in 17 years. Never won mvp. I’m sure there are less deserving players in the HOF, but it should require a bit more than being above average to get in for me

He’s in the top 5 all time for yards and touchdowns and went to 8 pro bowls.

He’s definitely a bit more than above average, even if he wasn’t on great teams for most of his career.

Calvin Johnson never won a playoff game, does that mean he shouldn’t get in too?

Let’s not forget that he made just about every major passing record worthless by setting them in garbage time

Think his place on the passing leaderboard is as much a function of the league becoming more pass-focused in the era he’s played in. You’d expect Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Ryan and possibly even Stafford to have passed him in one or both categories by the time he’s eligible. I do think he’ll get in fwiw, but he might have a long wait if he doesn’t get in first time as he’ll likely be joining the queue behind Brady, Brees and Roethlisberger.

Megatron’s an interesting case, his achievements mean he should be first ballot but the crotchety old Footbaw Men who vote for it probably don’t like that he retired early. Think Reggie Wayne might get the nod ahead of him for having a longer career (and a ring).

I don’t think charitable giving buys someone the right to be held to a lower standard. It feels like we’re unlikely to agree about Drew Brees but I think there are good reasons to dislike him.
