NFL Week 11: Zeke for MVP Edition

We’re well past the halfway point now, rushing fast down the slope straight into playoff county! And hoo boy, is it a muddled field out there… let’s talk some football!

Just to start us off, this has all but convinced me to get a DeAndre Levy jersey:

I’m not convinced by the Broncos, but dunno who’ll take it from them. Think Ravens will fall away, don’t think Titans will be consistent

Lovely TD by Ginn last night. Always blows my mind those kind of deep endzone catches after a 40 yard pass. So much skill and footwork

Wow, no one like The Ravens to win the AFC North then. I voted Steelers out of loyalty.

Saints are a funny old team. Played really poorly for the first half, then the offense goes back to being borderline unstoppable in the second once they really needed to. Defense was getting pressure throughout as well. A few individual mistakes, a blocked FG… I guess that’s how you end up being a 4-6 team, can’t get it all together for long enough periods.

Hahaha, talk about hedging your bets - @badmanreturns has the entire AFC West progressing!

took a loooong time on their final scoring drive as well - you can’t just give it back to the panthers with 3 minutes to go when you’ve got no timeouts. Punt returner should just have got out of bounds as well imo.

Ravens have Cowboys, Bengals (H), Dolphins (H), Patriots, Eagles (H), Steelers, Bengals, whereas the Steelers have the browns twice, that’s what clinches it for me.

Yep, a surprising number of short runs in that fourth quarter. Even the very last play, they did a little checkdown and he ran for a bit and then everyone stopped. No hail mary. no crazy laterals, just… fizzled out. Kind of summed it up.

But

  • We can’t defend the run.
  • We can’t defend the pass.
  • Our offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and special teams coaching and playcalling is abysmal.
  • If Roethlisberger gets injured we are probably the worst team in the NFL.
  • Our record against the Ravens is appalling.

Outside of blind loyalty, I’m taking the Ravens. Their defense is a lot better than people are giving them credit for.

AFC North is terrible this year.

Embrace the stupidity! (Nicked from Bleacher Report via Bill Barnwell)

The presidency of Donald Trump is good news for the NFL, according to a team executive with whom B/R spoke. Why? The theory is interesting, and a little bit out there.

Here goes: “Under President [Barack] Obama, the country was intellectual and looked at facts. I think that’s why our ratings fell. People read a lot about our scandals or CTE and didn’t like what they saw. Under Trump, the country will care less about truth or facts. It’ll be [more raw] and brutal. Football will be more of an outlet. We’ll go back to liking our violent sports.”

Curse those informed, intelligent viewers with their knowing about things and caring about stuff!

I just kept clicking until it forced me to stop
