But before that can the Chargers put their division rivals Las Vegas Raiders’ playoff hopes to bed on Thursday Night Football? Or will Derek and the defense that falls like dominoes limp on for another week into Miami for a loser-goes-home matchup?

The winner of this weekends bears - vikings game will make the playoffs

I thought you said last week that the Vikings had as much chance as the Bears of making he playoffs, which was zero? Edit: what’s changed your mind?

(I’d fancy the Vikings’ chances of pulling off an upset playoff win over the Cardinals so would rather they got through)

For the Bears to make the playoffs they’d need to hope the Packers secure a first-round bye before week 17 and play the kids. For that to happen the Saints would need to lose to the Chiefs (which I fully expect them to do) and…the Vikings, who may give them less of a game if they lose to the Bears this weekend. In summary…don’t know.

Dunno. Got a feeling the eagles are going to do the cardinals, then the cards have the 49ers who are looking better, and the rams who are good.

If they go 1-2 in those 3 games they end up 8-8. Which means the winner of bears vikings only needs one other win to tie. The Vikings play detroit, the bears play jacksonville.

The tie break rules confuse and scare me, I’d have no idea who’d get in if 2 teams end up 8-8 but where’s the fun in that take.

Ah. Apparently the first tie breaker is the divisional seed. Cardinals will finish 3rd in the West so 2nd in the North would take it with the same record. I’m sticking with my hot take!

Also now Mitchell Trubisky is elite so the bears are unbeatable

Didn’t realise there was a Saturday game, that’s a nice bonus.

Wish they’d divvy up the Sunday games a bit more to have fewer at 6pm, but whatever. Might just Redzone it up now the Lions are fully done, especially if Stafford isn’t starting.

Chiefs Saints will be tasty, bet it’s the Sky game so not on Gamepass, pah

don’t think there’s any footage of it but fairly widely circulated stories of Brett Favre throwing it from one endzone to the other as a party trick during warmups when he was younger

who are the most likeable american football team? I guess what I am asking is, who are the AFC Bournemouth of American football? What are the New York Jets like, they seem rubbish, perennial underachievers that one day might come good, that’s the vibe I’m after.
