Would be celebrating but the two teams I have affiliation with are either hated or disparaged on here so feels a bit pointless.

Plus Derek Carr’s end really does put a damper on the whole shebang. Was definitely the feel good story of the season.

Well the team I support is… The New “Evil” England Patriots (totally understand why everyone hates them, but I got introduced to NFL by my extended family in east Connecticut and Tom Brady is a fucking Adonnis)

My girlfriend’s from Houston and her family has season tickets to the Texans, and whilst I don’t really believe in second teams I end up watching them on game pass than I do my team, so I kind of root for them now. They’re not really mentioned much on here, but every time they are it goes down like a lead balloon. Seems to be a perception that they’re the most boring team in football.

Didn’t mean to sound needlessly_defensive, I’d just rather take part in other conversations in the NFL thread rather than start to talk about the Pats or the Texans! :+1:t2:

Worked brilliantly. Just lucky it was the end of the game and Kansas didn’t get the ball back… the way the defence were looking they were gonna kick the fuck off :smile:

TBH the “don’t embarrass us” entitlement of losing teams in US sports is one of the most frustrating things about watching the NFL.

I did love watching it though: the point when you see Talib realise what’s going on and desperately try to get back :ok_hand:t2:

Well, outside if JJ Watt the Texans aren’t that exciting, but they are in the playoffs so they’re still relevant. No one else supports them here (to my knowledge) but I don’t think anyone really minds.

Pats, sure, but they’re always gonna be relevant

Hmm Idk I kinda feel outside of the perennial QB graveyard the Texans have had really great players to watch. Arian Foster was probably the most pleasing running back in the league to watch during his prime, and Andre Johnson followed by Hopkins have been regularly thrilling (at least before Drying Pan Osweiller came alongside). Plus this year Clowney and Mercilus have more than made up for the absence of JJ. Totally get why people don’t want to watch them (they’ve been horrendous at points this year) but I can think of plenty of teams that are more boring (to these biased eyes at least)

Think I must have come off as a lot more bitter than I really felt in the post. I’m really fine with people not really liking the teams i like: it’s more just a case that the standard response to anything Patriots is “ugh cheaters/ oh god I’d rather have a nuclear trumpocalyse than Pats-Boys Super Bowl.” So I’d rather just not bother? Not really one those Pats fans that revels in the amount everyone else hates us. Just don’t see much point in bringing them up :slightly_smiling_face:

And yeah Texans have had great players in the past but this current team isn’t too exciting. Doesn’t mean they can’t be spoken about though.

I have nothing against the Texans, in fact I think JJ Watt is probably the most annoying aspect of the team, outside of that they seem like a decent bunch of lads, and the recurring QB disaster is plenty entertaining.

Pats I respect/hate, I do get a kick of seeing Brady be Brady, because why wouldn’t you want to watch the GOAT do his thing? He’s obviously a massive pranny off field, but so are plenty of them.

Anyway, it’s all friendly rough and tumble, it’s good to have more teams represented!
