In an incredibly embarrassing start to the season it looks like the most embarrassing thing of all is that we didn’t beat the Patriots… :grimacing:

I couldn’t watch anything last night. In a state of open mouthed shock that the Bills beat the Vikes. Love this game.

Played like dirt in the first half last night too, but pulled it round. Got to carry on with him for now, surely?

In other news, Jiimy G confirmed as having torn his ACL.Terrible for him and absolutely torpedoes any chance the 9ers had of doing anything or being interesting this year.

There is an ex 49ers qb with a decent nfl record who they could pick up for nothing atm.

I was rooting for him so hard that my stomach was actually knotted up in the second half! Gutted.

An almost unwatchable amount of penalties in that game, mind.

He’s got to get the nod against a bears team who’ve shown to leave holes for big throws/completions.

Not sure I’ve enjoyed a play as much this season as the McDonald double stiff arm against Conte

I’m sure they will feel that they are best served with the combined skills and experience of CJ Beathard (4 TDs, 6 INTs, career QB rating 69.2), Nick Mullens and Jack Henegan (precisely no experience between them).

Haven’t commented on the Lions game yet, just been quietly chuckling to myself for the 24 hours. Was quite surreal to wake up to. Watched the game and it made interesting viewing. I don’t think the Lions looked like world beaters by any means - they were iffy in the redzone, their returns team is appalling, the run defence is still gappy as fuck - but the main change is a key one: they actually had a competent running game. They could sustain drives, wind down the clock, take the pressure of Stafford, keep the defence fresh… it’s huge. Even scratching together 150 yards makes all the difference.

I still don’t like their playoff chances, and I have a terrible feeling that they’re really going to regret fucking the dog in the Jets game come crunch time, but at least they showed they could be competitive. Cowboys game should be interesting… don’t want to think about Green Bay yet.

Think that was more to do with the Patriots or getting some gremlins out of the Lions’ system/experience from first couple of games?

I think the Lions D was definitely flattered by how inconsistent and out of sorts Brady and his receivers looked.

The run game I think is legit though. There were signs through both of the first two games, but falling behind and needing to catch up fast meant they had to abandon the run. If they can avoid falling behind again (no sure thing at all) then I think it will prove to be effective.

Looks like Sean Lee is …injured for the Cowboys? Huh. Guess you can dial up another 100 yard rushing game for Johnson and a 2-2 record

Pretty sad stuff about Everson Griffen - hope he gets the help he needs:
