The NFL is modifying the league’s gambling policies that will punish players more harshly for betting on their own teams while also amending rules that will allow some players, including Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams, to return to the field quicker.
Betting on your own team: shady and bad
Betting on a different sport entirely: absolutely no business of the NFL, a company that profits enormously from sports gambling
Nah, that was what made the thing a circus from the start. The previous rules didn’t even ban non-NFL gambling for players, it banned it while in team facilities, which included hotels while travelling, which meant a player could be sanctioned for placing a legal bet on the NBA on their phone, in their room during training camp. Made no sense.
