This is great.

20,000 days on earth is on 4OD. Haven’t seen it since the cinema so excited to rewatch now that I’m more familiar with his work.

Blur/spoiler: the montage of archive footage to Jubilee Street is properly amazing.

Think my favourite scene is where they talk about Nina Simone

Really wish One More Time With Feeling would pop up on one of the streaming services, still haven’t seen it. And the dvd is still expensive.

In other Cave news Nocturama popped up on an iPod album shuffle this morning. Haven’t listened to it for years. And you know what? It isn’t that steaming pile of dog turd that everyone says it is:

Perfectly passable album, a little bit Bad Seeds by numbers so not amazing or anything (although it does have Babe I’m on Fire, which is) but I enjoyed it.

Oh, and are we all watching badseedteevee?

Agree with ^this. I enjoyed it when it was released and enjoyed it the last time I listened to it. Even Bad Seeds by numbers is better than most acts best stuff 🤷

BadSeedteevee is great isn’t it?
There’s been quite a lot of stuff shown that I’d not seen before.

Nocturama is a fine album, but certainly in the lowest rung of Bad Seeds records… probably a 7.5 for me. It needs to lose a couple of the mediocre songs (I’m looking at you Rock Of Gibraltar). They also recorded a track called Nocturama at the time which is better than a lot of songs that ended up on the record, so it could have been potentially a much better album.

Yeah, I’d agree that it’s on the lowest rung. I’d put it in the relegation zone with dig Lazarus dig (which is my least favourite bs album) and Murder ballads (which is only redeemed by stagger lee).

Dig Lazarus Dig is great!

oh nice. haven’t seen it in ages. it’s understandably been overshadowed by One More Time With Feeling since but there were some clips of it on BadSeedteevee when i was watching it which reminded me how good it is, like when he’s watching old Birthday Party footage

Ah yeah that’s the other bit I remember. Where the bloke jumps on stage and gets launched back out :grinning: Didn’t realise their following was partly responsible for the BP splitting up.
