I didn’t get that comparison personally.

Probably just my brain being weird. Think it was the bassy groove with the speak-singing bit seemed to have a similar atmosphere.

I got a similar vibe.

The bass is proper meaty though isn’t it?!

Carnage into White Elephant is a one-two up there with pretty much anything from the discography.

Really liked about 3 songs, but the more Ghosteen-esque tracks passed me by a bit on first listen

New single but seems to be a £20 7" only at this point:

A ha ha ha.
No.

Really struggling not to temporarily change the thread title to “Nick Cave (trolling)” TBH

Really sad news, seems that Anita Lane has died

Ah fuck, she can’t have been that old

62 I think. I only know bits and pieces of her music scattered across her work with various people, but all the stuff I heard was really great.

Anita with Mick doing the Serge Gainsbourg stuff is the best

RIP Anita

I feel slightly cheered today learning that Nick Cave and his wife have a “psychotic little dog” called Nosferatu.

This was a beautiful letter, and it’s nice to have it read with a musical backing, but not sure it’s essential as a “song”. Nice little side thing though.

The dog in question.

Anyone else a bit miffed to see ‘Carnage’ in stock at Norman’s and a few other places - but the pre-orders still not due till July? seems to be taking advantage a bit…
