Bas Vegas just refers to the festival leisure park IMO

Haha what didn’t she like that first?

Just remembered I tried to popularise G minor for Godalming and G major for Guildford but it never caught on

She was living in someone’s spare room just behind the college in Cardonald and didn’t really get to see much of the city aside from weekends when I came through from Livingston. I think it was my enthusiasm that decided we were moving here (and her being offered a permanent job.)

Not mine, but Heywood is commonly know to all as Monkey Town, which I find funny.

Me and my bf have a few based on how my sat nav pronounces them -
Curventre’?
High weir-combe

I’ve heard heywood called a lot of things, but monkeytown ain’t one

You’re moving in uninformed circles then. It’s on the first paragraph of its wikipedia page and everything https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heywood,_Greater_Manchester you don’t get more official than that.

I’ve heard posh people IRL say “PONJE” when referring to Penge

The two local train stations have become (courtesy of my GF)

Purley Oaks = Ploaks
Sanderstead = Sandersplatz
