Nintendo Switch 2

The latest Hyrule Warriors is more solid than I expected. Probably about 6 or 7 hours in now and it’s following the expected story - I think some of the cutscenes are one to one - but with a lot more detail.

There’s just enough variety to keep it interesting, it’s good at tutorialising without taking forever as it introduces new mechanics and looks good on the whole - Ms Z was impressed by the aesthetics.

You can see some small bits of jank bleed through here and there; frame drops are rare but are there on occasion, a few things it does feel out of character for a Zelda game, but overall it’s a good buy.

There had been for the Switch version a while back. Don’t think we’ve had any MK World DiS games though.

Loved Age of Calamity, decided to hold out on this one because Age of Calamity was often heavily discounted

I only picked it up because I saw a second hand copy in good condition going for the equivalent of about £35 in Taiwan. Figured that was a good price for a series I’ve never played beyond the Calamity demo and the good reviews.

I’m even starting to get on board with the new characters, which I didn’t expect - figured I’d just stick with the ones I knew from TotK.

Anyone for a Community Mario Kart World race(s)?

Potentially if I’m free at the right time.

I would probably honestly prefer they just stuck all the individual ROMs on the eshop for a tenner each rather than having them locked into a subscription

Great price for this. Highly recommeded to anyone who likes couch co-ops and chaos

Sounds like Pokopia is going to sell a lot of Switch 2s

Indie Showcase seems alright.

Moonlighter 2 and Minishoot will go down well
Lots of strong art direction - Woodo in particular looks beautiful.
Not stuffed with a single genre like normal - fair vairety, even with a bunch of run based games…

WAIT

BLUE PRINCE!!!

Started Pokopia and I can feel it affecting my work productivity. Why should I spend my time sending emails that people won’t read properly when there are Pokemon waiting for beds to sleep in.

Gf has started playing BOTW for the first time. Shes never played a Zelda before or any adventure type game.

On encountering her first Bokoblin: “I killed him and I didn’t even know him…”

I so, so wish I could be in her position again

My other favourite quote from the first session: “Trousers come easy to you in this game, huh”

Beat Ganon last week (having started this pre-Xmas for the first time) - satisfying to finish the main quest but definitely followed by a minor sense of disappointment that I was now done and that going back in again and the sense of wonder from exploring the world wouldn’t feel the same again (still enjoying finishing off some of the quests and trying to tick off remaining shrines and finding the odd new thing mind you - though I definitely don’t see myself obsessing over all the korok seeds and the full 100%!)

It’ll never be quite the same again, but give it a wee while and replay it. The wonder will return

Oh, and definitely get the DLC bundle if you haven’t already, it adds so much to the game
