Also the pinball feels great and i know u like pinball

yeah I love pinball!

I just worry if it’s going to be too short but I guess that doesn’t matter if it’s delightful all the way through

I hear it’s 4 - 6 hours. If you want length then Celeste is the way to go with the main campaign being about 8 hours and the extras making the game more like 18 hours overall

Had a look at Jotun, but it’s not on sale, so have saved it for later. Am umming and ahhing about Owlboy and Thumper. Owlboy seems quite short, even for that discounted price, and I can’t tell if I’d like Thumper or not. But I suppose it’s cheap enough to risk it.

I’ve done my first ever pre-order for Mushroom Wars 2, so I’m looking forward to that. I’m still replaying Steamworld Heist on the Elite difficulty in the meantime.

got Jotun from the Russian store for £4 or something.

The art is lovely but boy is it empty and combat feels bad. Can’t really complain at that price but equally would have a hard time recommending it

Thumper is really good, but admittedly I bought it when there was nothing else much on Switch, so I devoted a lot more time to it than I might do now. The soundtrack builds as you do better and get further in the game. It’s a bit oppressive, and scored by one of the lads from Lightning Bolt, but when you hit a flow it’s incredibly tight and addictive.

I’ve really loved playing Odyssey with my daughter. She’s 5 and it’s the first game she’s really got into and been able to play by herself. I think the assist mode works really well. Absolutely love seeing the sheer joy when she discovers something new or unexpected. Her friend at school loves it too and it sounds like they spend most playtimes jumping around the playground recreating moments from it :grinning:

Anyone played I Am Setsuna or Lost Sphear? They’re 50% off at the moment and I quite fancy a traditional JRPG, but the reviews seem pretty sniffy about them.

I bought both. Played 2 hours of lost sphere and uninstalled it. Its a massive slog and bloated with systems that arent fun

Ive heard I Am Setsuna is better. Just wasnt worth the asking price

Cool, I’ll give it a miss. Might just play through FFVI again.

Can I talk about tropical freeze again?

Got to the world 2 boss (owl one) and jesus, it took me literally an hour and a half and maybe 30 lives to get past that cunt. How did I go past it, you might ask?

Well, I went online and someone mentioned about ‘buying’ items to use in the level, so I then googled that and found out what all the banana coins are for - buying items and power ups. Fucking hell, they hid that one. I assumed the Funky Kong aeroplanes were Funky Airways from the first DKC game, so ignored them (I only had two worlds open, see?).

Added an extra heart and managed it in one go.

Mate sorry but thats entirely on you

It must be. I keep totally missing massive components of game’s tutorials? I was thinking about this last night and why I miss stuff like this. Not sure why it is - I used to read the manuals I got with games ahead of playing them (there is a gleeful Christmas family video of me reading the Sonic and Knuckles manual and exclaiming “oh wow, it just starts after the last one - and you can plug sonic 3 into it!” rather than just playing it, for fucks sake). I wonder if that is why I don’t see the tutorials.

Wild eh.
