I think I read that there are actual Tetris rules that exist somewhere that states a game isn’t allowed the pieces to rotate after pressing the up/fast drop button. Maybe!
But I don’t think it’s possible in this game anyhow. I’ve never been able to do it. Maybe the bit you saw was just at a fast speed and he pressed the down button to make it just look like a fast drop?

Nah he’s just dropping on down all the time. Like soft dropping and spinning on impact

Deffo worth if u like ur strat games

It’s bonkers. I can’t get my head around it.
I’ve just skipped to the last game of that 4 hour session, and he somehow only came second! He makes lots of grunting and exasperated noises which are quite amusing! Even more amusing than his random attempts to him along to the Tetris tune badly!

Played the Pokémon demo with the kids today. They loved it but it felt really basic, if charming, to me. Do you do any more than just catch the odd one and let them battle?

As it was short we booted up Zelda and started it from the beginning. Weird how much I remember of that opening hour precisely and also how I had forgotten huge chunks.

Already got the itch to dive back in and play it all over… But must… Play… The… Backlog…

Pokemon is a ge where u collect pokemon and battle to become the pokemaster, if you want more than that then pokemon isnt for u, its a game for collectors.

Finished Wandersong - yes it takes me about a month to play an 8 hour game…

Next I dunno whether to go back to Mario (i only have about 200 moons i think), or start Zelda.

I will get yoshi when it comes out too

Charming lil game innit?

Maybe it’s not for me then. Kinda thought the combat would either be quite complicated, the catching process interesting or the Pokémon found after an expansive explore. Guess it is just a demo though. Do those things happen later on?

Sort of. The basics stay as they are, but there’s more mechanics layered on top, Pokémon become harder to catch, recovery items and Pokémon types become important in battle (a fire type will struggle against a water type) and so on. Could be one to play with the kids, but if you’re into Xenoblade etc and you have no nostalgia for it yourself then you might want to skip it for yourself.

I have no history with Pokemon, this was my first experience and I found it boring as piss. Boy wasn’t interested after a couple of plays either.

yeah it’s always been a bit shite imho, I think the generation that grew up with it will always love it and everyone else will be a bit ‘pffffff’.

Just wait for the mainline Pokemon game at the end of the year, that’ll have more to it.
