£££ innit.

But JRPGs take so long to beat that you wont need to buy as many games

A valid point.

I can understand that. My wife and I have worked our way through the first 4 worlds. We haven’t attempted every level, but prob done about 80% of each world, and we haven’t skipped any. We both like these sorts of puzzles and we’re stubborn but we have spent >1hr on a few levels.

Never played such a bloody hard puzzle game. Some of the usual techniques like going away and coming back fresh don’t seem to help, you’re just as stuck. If it’s late at night and I’m tired I just have to go to bed, no chance of doing a hard level then. I think what it is is that it very regularly tries to teach you new concepts but not always in an obvious or gentle way. So you either suddenly get it or you don’t and spend ages going round. The other levels that don’t introduce new concepts but just get you to use what you’ve got in the bank, they work.

I’m not sure I want to spend 100 hours with any game though…

Most JRPGs these days its entirely possible to make progress my mainlining the main quests and are done within 40

Yeah but I know I’ll get completist and fear I’m missing stuff / not getting value from it. IDK. I’m very tempted. I guess there’s no rush though.

What game are we talking about again? DQ?

Yeah, well I was.

I just got confused because like 3 games are being talked about at the moment  I almost said something stupid like ‘ASTRAL CHAIN WONT BE 100hrs u dummy’ and BOY I woulda looked like an idiot

I just accidentally killed my first large animal (looked like a Bison) and I felt terrible

It’s possible to play the game as a vegan and never use meat (there might be a couple of sidequests you can’t do though).

Also depends if you consider a Lynel an animal or not, though you never have to kill one of them either.

Fixed this for you.

Not inaccurate.

I’ve run away from every Lynel bar one when I thought fuck it, why not, took three attempts but eventually I got the pattern down and twatted him. Wasn’t really worth it tbh.

It gets really easy towards the end game that you may as well be killing chickens (which probably pose a greater threat at that stage)

Yeah, once you have all the Champion’s boosts, about 20 hearts, good armour and top weapons, it’s really just a matter of time.

I played a rom of the snes lion King recently… The platforming and hit detection of ledges etc was… Not good.

Hopefully it was just abad emulation, although I do remember the original mega drive game being incredibly frustrating too, not just because of the difficulty…
