If portability is your only prerequisite I’d say go for it. You can always pawn it off if you’re not enjoying it. Most of us beat it in sub30FPS at launch anyway

nice

I played and finished it (shout out to the DiS DS crew for getting me through) on Switch earlier in the year… completely in handheld. It’s really, really great. I bounced off it twice but it all clicked on the third attempt, one of my favourite gaming experiences I’d say.

Independent price tracking website for Switch games. You can see the price history of games, get notified when stuff you want goes on sale etc.

If you were amazed by Wish List, then you’ll blow your top off at: https://www.dekudeals.com

It shows you the sale prices of all games, also showing the historical sales/dates/lengths of time/prices, and lets you know if it’s the best sale price so far.

It’s useful to have a look and see how frequently a game goes on sale (in case you want to wait a bit to clear the backlog first…), and/or if it’s a great price you should snap a game up at.

As mentioned above, you can set up an account and set a wish list up on their site. I like a bit of manual work in my sales hunting, so I’ll check my Switch wish list- if something is on sale and I’m tempted i will check deku for the sales lowdown.

It’s also sometimes good at showing popular sales, and so I’ve occasionally checked out some games I hadn’t heard of/considered before.

It’s a dangerous link!

Playing it at the moment in a mixture of docked and handheld. Very much enjoying being able to play it in bed!

This brought me so much joy just watching. If I went there I think I’d spontaneously combust

I bounced off it on 360 but loved it on Switch. I think the ability to put the Switch into sleep mode and pick up where you left off was a bit part of the reason why. As long as you play offline or only pause it briefly, the Switch version lets you carry on later on, whereas other versions have no pause function and save points can be very far apart at first.

I did play online too though on tougher sections as it’s nice to get the messages left by other players.

Other considerations…

The Remastering on Switch is bare bones, whereas on PS4 and Xbox One it’s pretty sharpened up and crisp. And personally, I hated the latter. Whereas Demons Souls treated the whole thing really beautifully, I thought the remaster lost some of the murky decay of the original and I prefer the look of the Switch version myself.

Only real downside of the Switch version is that the dynamic audio isn’t included. I didn’t notice a difference as I had no comparison point but by all accounts, if you played with it before on your headphones, it’s a big miss.

Hope that helps. I’d say jump in!

Tempted by this tbh

Hello - late to the party but definitely want to get in on the MK action. Can someone add me to the group please

There isn’t a group yet, I will try get admin attention tomorrow as the previous summoning got missed.

When there is a group I guess that will be time to start a MK thread too. Maybe that way we might get more spontaneous races going when people fancy them too :crossed_fingers:

Could we do a group DM thread?

That’s a great idea! So long as you can add enough people to it, I’ll check later when I’m not multi-tasking unless someone else wants to give it a go first :+1:
