The only thing that ever makes me consider buying a new console is a new pokémon game I can’t play on my current console.

A free puppy would be a nice bonus too, I guess

Depends what the differential between what I can get for selling my one on eBay and buying a new one is. If I can make the trade without losing much money (which given the fact that there’s still a shortage of consoles, seems possible, particularly if I’m willing to be without one for a few weeks), it doesn’t really have to offer much more to tempt me.

I hate rogue likes with a passion normally and I loved Hades. One of the best games I’ve played on the switch

This is the kind of comment that’ll make me buy it. Though I feel people said the same about Dead Cells and I got about five minutes out of it before realising I hated it just the same as the rest.

I LOVE HORACE :robot:

Yeah I bounced off dead cells too.
Hades has a story and characters and the whole ‘you died, start again’ thing makes narrative sense. It’s a game where starting again feels part of the game and you unlock new stuff all the time rather than just bashing your head against the same ol’ brick wall.
Recommended.

It’s great! See a lot of people bounce of it because of how much story there is, but I love games full of story. I think the pixel art is incredible. I love the platforming, I love all the silly references, I love the Britishness, I love all the mini games and the way that pretty much every style of 2D gaming is represented. It’s got bags of heart and bags of character. Helps you out whenever things get difficult (after a few hours) too. Definitely one of the best Indies I’ve played on the system.

I finished the main story of Horace recently. Really great game when you get past the first couple of hours. Lovely story and quite challenging platforming/bosses which I wasn’t expecting. Also surprisingly long, can’t believe it cost me a quid.

Did you collect the million junk? I didn’t get anywhere near but I want to know if there’s a different ending so might go and do that one day…

Actually felt bad for only paying a quid for it, might chuck the devs some more money, would definitely crowdfund them if they did any further projects (there’s only 2 of them!)

Just feel like an utter sucker buying another rogue like when I have about 5 of them I haven’t played. Will inevitably snap when the price is right.

Yeah, same. I feel like I’ve robbed them slightly but we can pay them back by recommending Horace on indie forums maybe?

I was about 3/4s of the way there at the end of the main story, I do plan on going back to get it because I ignored some of the challenge rooms in the mansion and they look quite fun for when I’m in the mood.

Can’t believe they’ve got the audacity to release an Atelier Ryza sequel when I’ve barely played the first one. It’s really good though.

Better gpu and processor would be nice so it can run more games at a native 1080p without depending on dynamic resolution or temporal aa which makes some games look like their characters are made of vapour. OLED would be nice too for contrast

I’m sensitive to Bluetooth audio lag so don’t care for Bluetooth headphones support BUT it would be nice to have a better voice chat solution

My switch is continuously losing internet connection making it impossible to play any online games. Is this a common issue?

The wifi hardware in it is not great - how strong is your wifi generally?

Not great, it occasionally drops out when I’m playing but not this frequently!

yeah i find the switch wifi to be a nightmare. i get 1 bar of Wifi while docked and between the router and the switch is interior walls separated by extension wall

been reading about wired connections, but the switch needs an adapter for ethernet, for fucks sake

I find Rocket League to be pretty unplayable on Switch for this reason, I always get terrible ping.

You can use an ethernet cable/adapter to improve your connection, which may be a solution for docked. I also have shite internet and play Rocket League using my 4G from my phone, which might be a fix if you have unlimited data and decent coverage.

If youre playing it docked you can try a powerline ethernet adapter plug adaptot with USB ethernet adaptor attached to your switch and plug it directly into your router via powerline. The switches wifi connectivity is miserable

If not try sharing your WiFi with your phone which will almost certainly have better range
