I picked mine up on Friday, lovely bit of kit. Face unlock works great, cameras pretty faultless. It feels and looks expensive

Really ? Face unlock is Apple’s main feature, and it may be that this new feature will appeal to countless Apple fans , Including me :heart_eyes:, to be honest , i am not interested in iPhone 8 , but i am going to switch Android to iPhone (iPhone x) ,although its price is enough for me to buy several Android phone

Reviews seem unanimous. It’s a nice phone, a very nice phone. But the problem is A) The notch is a fucking disaster in design

and B) The Note One, Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S8 are all really nice phones and half the price. The fact that iOS still doesn’t have t-9 dialing is comical to me. And why do you need to swipe to unlock the phone after the face recognition? That just seems like bad design.

My favourite part of the review was the bit where he slightly remixed the sound levels of a track from The Social Network soundtrack by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and didn’t credit them at all for using it.

I switched from Android to iPhone yesterday,Very excited, the rounded sides and the fact that there are no hardware buttons on the screen ,But the iPhone x has neither the home button nor the back button, which is completely different from Android phones, and I need time to adapt ,

Probably down to patents - Apple would have to pay Nuance to licence it. Although given that they use Nuance products very heavily for Siri, it’s a bit odd that they would balk at what must be a negligable cost.
