Walsh was a big figure in the Supporters Trust movement 10 years ago. Found he had a sort of odd brash confidence about him that was really off putting for me, but a lot of the movement treated him almost as some kind of figure head. Very odd.

I never met him, but i know he helped out several other clubs and was thought of very highly by people at a couple of the sides i watch.

I’d be interested in a bit more juice on the FC United stuff if safebruv’s got a few minutes…

Oh, his heart was undoubtedly in the right place, but he was… i guess a bit to intense for my liking.

It is everyone’s fault that we got into a mess, we’re a democratic club and the membership took their eye off the ball and just let the people in charge get on with it.

However - FC United issues from the walsh cabal as reported by various enemies

Forked over a couple of hundred grand to the council for a ground in Newton Heath that didn’t happen and the money was gone.
Ostracized dozens of volunteers when they started asking tough questions and replaced them with non united mates in paid positions. Fundraising went from volunteer ran to Andy Walker being paid £30k a year and raised less funds that it was before not even taking into account the wage.
Decided to become a 3rd sector hub without telling anyone and basing the whole financial future of the club on grants from various government groups with no thought of the effect would have on said grants or conditions
Became the poster team for Big Society including inviting a fucking tory minister for a photo op on the pitch.
Didn’t bother managing the playing budget at all.

He was forced out and new people found;
Our club sponsor had signed up for 1 season and had no contract, the club thought it was 2 so put that in forecasts and when the new board asked for payment the sponsor said they didn’t sponsor us.
The agreements made with the council are an absolute joke making fundraising nearly impossible.
No contracts for any of the pitchside advertising or records of who had and hadn’t paid
Loan stock sold to people without it being properly handled and us not being able to cover the debt.

We very nearly went bust. Half the crowd hate walsh and half hate JP. We’ve been infiltrated by right wing locals that no one can be bothered dealing with. Our playing budget is tiny and we have a completely unproven manager who has got the job because “he gets it”.

We will go down this season.

Andy Walsh personally accused 2 of my mates that raised the most money for the club of stealing money. He then took over what they were doing and put his mates in charge of it while completely muddying their name while at the same time was taking all the matchday takings home with him and keeping it under his bed until the bank opened on a monday (Gate takings/bar takings etc for crowds of £3k+)

People that bought community shares may not get their money back

was there something to do with pies too

As I’m at work until 9, with not much to do I thought I’d try and plan some non-league games for when Palace are away or not playing on a Saturday.

This is what I have planned so far. Whether I stick with it is a different matter.

Made it. Bit of an EDL feel to this stand.

No physical programmes which is disappointing.

Oh, they killed theirs last season - run as an experiment with agreement from the league.

I don’t recall the excessive number of flags last time I visited

Carshalton Athletic 1 Kingstonian 1

A game of two halves. Carshalton should have been our of sight at half time but Kingstonian were far better in the second half.

Only only remembered in the second half that the Kingstonian manager was the ex Whyteleafe boss who took half the team with him, who no longer seem to play for them either. They did have ex highly rated Palace youngster Conor Dymond on the subs bench.

Quite a nice set up at Carshalton, but they sound and look to much like Charlton Athletic for my liking.

Trafford for me today. Beat Prescot Cables 2-1. Bloody lovely day out.

Travel, entry, programme and a couple of brews - £17.

My mate went to droylsden v Runcorn yesterday. Said it was a good day out.

It’s alright, aye. Easy to get to, good clubhouse, nice old main stand.

They used to have a right shithouse of a manager, though. Dave Pace i think he was called.

23rd March, which is my best mate’s birthday weekend so not sure I’ll make this away day :frowning: They’re at us on 3rd November.

I wrote an article on work experience about 2 of Whitehawk’s teenage fans being on the end of sexually explicit chants and shouts by Maidstone fans at a game in 2015. Got accused on social media of being biased because Maidscum are Tonbridge’s rivals, lolzzz

Tonbridge 1 - 0 Burgess Hill.

We were unlucky to only be 1-0 up at half time (a delayed half time due to our captain, Tom ‘Parky’ Parkinson getting a head injury and needing to be stitched up and get a head bandage). Not so dominant in the second half but Burgess Hill never really looked like scoring. Parky played the whole game with his head bandage.

After 3 league games we’re yet to let in a goal and are 4th in the league (won 2 drawn 1). Pleased with that. Get such a thrill showing my season ticket on the turnstiles too.

Was amused that Burgess Hill brought about 10 Ultras who were chanting and drumming until we scored, and were then silent for the rest of the game.

A young lad at Prescot Cables passed away this week. Fell ill whilst playing 5-a-side. Only 18.

See you on the 3rd

Heading down to Englandshire tonight.

I’m going to a proper FA Cup match on Saturday!! Faversham Town vs Hackney Wick.

I’ll post a pic or 2 and a match/pie report thereafter.

Have you picked a game for the 10th Nov yet?

It’s the west of Scotland cup thst weekend.

I’m not going to Whyteleafe today, but I might go to the big local derby on Monday.

East Grinstead United v Whyteleafe.

Whyteleafe have a 100% record in league and cup. Hopefully they’ll go clear top with a win.
