It’ll go right down to the wire, @colon_closed_bracket’s got three games in hand.

And if anyone think it’s odd that I’m not referring to the teams’ names here, I refer you to a long-standing arrangement with the FA that, should our two teams ever finish the season level on points, there shall be no play-off and the season will be settled by a best-of-three rock paper scissors between the two of us at a neutral venue (probably the car park near Lincoln Cathedral, tickets available on the day).

Our pitch has truly been destroyed by the awful weather.

Start of December:

End of Feb:

We have played 2 games since mid December at home, one during Storm Dennis so not a great attendance. The lack of home games mean we’re in the shit financially right now. Why can’t it stop fucking raining :frowning:

Yep, all the owners got an email yesterday outlining exactly how desperate our financial situation is.

Unless some people with very deep pockets come through, the likelihood is we’re going under.

Even if we get to the end of the season, fixing the pitch drainage (which has completely collapsed) will cost an estimated £150,000 - unclear how much of that can be financed by grants.

I can’t even begin to conceive of what my life looks like without my club

I hope it works out. As I’m reasonably local, if you do manage to get a home game on and I’m free, I’ll come along with support and money.

Also is there anywhere localish you could temporarily ground share with?

There are a few local grounds, but I’m not sure which local grounds are up to Step 2 grading requirements… Maidstone might be the most realistic one

I was thinking perhaps Whyteleafe, 3G, nice ground (perhaps quite not up to standard), clubs seem to like each other,it’s only about 20 miles, but the public transport links are terrible between the two.

Only a D grade unfortunately and Tonbridge need a B.

Poole are having big problems this season for a similar reason.

Bromley, Dartford or Crawley would probably be the other alternatives to Maidstone.

Only suitable for up to Step 4 sadly :frowning: There are a few 3G pitches around here (Sevenoaks springs to mind) but without the other necessary accoutrements, we’re looking at the likes of Maidscum, Dartford, Ebbsfleet, Bromley.

Haha, snap. Hadn’t thought about Crawley - links are basically non-existent though. (There is a direct bus from Tunbridge Wells, but nothing from Tonbridge. Takes an hour and a half / three trains to get between the two.)

The Redhill line is closed at the moment due to a landslip. Typically at a time I actually want to use it.

Oh yes, I think I heard about that. Edenbridge?

Yeah an embankment got washed away around Christmas and they need to rebuild it completely. It’s in a really remote location so getting trucks there is difficult. It’s going to take months, and this weather isn’t helping.

:frowning: it’s just causing so much devastation everywhere

That is some kit.

There’s not enough burgaundy on that kit for it to qualify as a named colour. It’s simply gold and white.

I just like it as it reminds me of Megabus Gold.

It’s like that dress isn’t it. Some people see it as gold and white, others burgundy

It’ll be four games in hand after today as our game is off. Basically two games a week for the next two months, ugh.
