I’m watching him right now, I more or less live on this street! Total sell out crowd and one of the rare chances to see a former filthy League club at Shawbridge. Clitheroe are quietly in mid-table but this season they’ve had a memorable FA Trophy run, beating York, giving Scunthorpe a fright, and hammering Darlaston Town in the league 9-1.
Bury have been pretty tame so far, Clitheroe too but one of the Shakers’ corner takers walked up to a Blues fan yelling the ball was out of play and patted him on the head 
Oh God, Clitheroe just took the lead.

What songs does your team insist on playing? Worksop walk out to Welcome to the Jungle, which is good clean fun, especially as it just cuts off at a random point each week. Opposition presumably terrified.
The pre-match music is terrible. They’ve adopted “Weekend in Paradise” by dogshit Liverpudlian singer songwriter Jamie Webster for some reason, and play it every week. It is sub sub sub landfill indie, dreadful, don’t look it up. He has no link to Worksop that I can work out at all.
Otherwise it’s cheesy football related songs such as Ant and Dec’s “We’re on the Ball” and “Ole Ole Ole” by The Fans - 6 minutes long that is, sample lyrics from the video below
We used to walk out to Australian football song Up There Cazaly (has the lyric “Fly like an angel, you’re out there to win”) which is a bit of a dirge but it was our dirge
Then went through a few more milquetoast options before a few seasons of the Hermes House Band remix of Country Roads. I’m not even sure what song we come out to now off the top of my head.
Our old tannoy dude played a good range of music but the current one (whose son is a nasty little prick) plays The Israelites by Desmond Dekker every single fucking game at half time. I hate it so much. I even complained about it in our fan survey. He did play Babies by Pulp one time which did earn some goodwill.

It’s hardly a priority competition but definitely nice for the season to not be over already, as we gave up playoff hopes a couple of weeks ago.
I think this is going to be a pretty hard ceiling for them, as the island player pool is limited. They have broken their pledge to have island only players this season but could only get youngsters on loan. They’re always at pains to point out that they don’t pay players much so it wouldn’t be very appealing for any mainland based players.
I think Manor walk on to Right Here, Right Now which is a classic of the genre (which loses a bit of its oomph when it’s accompanied by about four people clapping). The pre-match playlist is consistent (Song 2 always seems to be on when I arrive) but they only play 30 seconds of each song, presumably as a means of dodging paying royalties.
Got to update myself a lot on the pubs of Accy as haven’t been in many of them since before lockdown but I’ll probably be able to give some recommendations in the next few weeks!
Not sure you could get a more complete picture of modern football than “the world’s longest established football club is owned by the singer from Reverend and the Makers, who outdid their average attendance with a fictional match to boost his brother’s social media content”
Wait I saw that record attendance thing, it wasn’t real???
Steve Bracknall got big on TikTok and now does a podcast for the BBC, who were very willing to promote the “match” on their 5 Live shows.
I’m going to Sheffield FC tomorrow but it’s NOT because I’m a massive reverend and the makers fan, I promise
