Non-League Football Thread (Rolling)

I’m basically an anime figure with hearts bursting out of my eyes right now. Angles 4-0 Braintree, I have put myself out there and said we will finish 8th this season so nice that we’ve had a good start and I don’t look like a total idiot. Braintree are probably quite bad because they’ve had a transfer embargo since relegation but it’s still a statement win with two new players scoring (Tanga who we poached from the Scum with 2) and Frankie Baker, a class youth player we had on loan from Millwall U21 last season, scoring too.

And the Scum lost which is just the cherry on top.

Torquay at home next week will be the real test

Annoyingly I told my friend I’d be at her birthday party if we were away and didn’t caveat that there were 4 away games I needed to go to this season. This was one of them. SIGH. Ticked off Scunthorpe which with a taxi to the station was just about doable for the start of the party (near Wakefield)

My aim for this season is completing the National League. 13/24 now

Watched a 44-year-old Peter Clarke lock horns with a 47-year-old Kevin Ellison today. Bloody love non-league football, me.

Could well imagine Peter Clarke still playing in his 50s.

Southend were absolutely awesome against Altrincham on Saturday. Quite excited.

Just seen Nile Ranger has signed for Whyteleafe.

That’s a name I’ve not heard for a very long time. He’s 35 now

Oh he’s in for a shellacking if he makes it to Champion Hill

Back at The Walks, King’s Lynn for the first time in maybe four years

1-1 against Scarborough Athletic at halftime. A defensive howler gifted them the lead, and then a lovely looking goal levelled it for King’s Lynn just before halftime. Most of the racist pricks seem to have died/got banned/stood themselves a fair way away from me so it’s not been so bad.

Absolutely smashing away day at Leatherhead yesterday always great to get a (largely undeserved) last minute winner against historic rivals

Wonder how many times people ask their fans if they’re named after that terrifying horror character running around destroying everything

but enough about Burnley being renamed FC Alan Pace

Guess which (English) non-league club’s replica shirt I saw donned by someone this morning at Kings Cross Tube entrance. AFAIK it’s not one supported by any DiSer.

Brightlingsea Regent

Nope, not the coolest club name since Go Ahead Eagles! They are a coastal town though

Ooh, north or south?

South

Eastbourne Borough

Right sort of area?
