Teddy for Edward is ridiculous. It’s one letter shorter and the same amount of syllables.

Teddy for theodore is fine though.

How can one short name be used for two long names though.

I went through a phase of being called Niffer (at my request)

Still a better shortening of my name than Jenny ;(
