Maybe his wages were less than 5 million a year and he’s going to buy his contract out? Making this up off the top of my head, mind.

As the stream is for overseas subscribers only, it shouldn’t effect gates.

I get that, what I mean is that now all championship games will have a stream, before it was just the sky/bein games that were available. Also vpn apps are very easy to use.

Either way, I’m delighted.

Caballero to Chelsea is a weird un

Yeah, find it weird that he’s basically going to see out his career playing not very much football as second choice at big clubs.

The classic Richard Wright approach.

Stuart Taylor*

he’s the next English Philip Lahm? fair play

Anyone else get irrationally annoyed when transfers get described as “record breaking” in the headline, and then it turns out that it’s just the shitty club’s own record?

Reckon I could be the mighty Woking F.C.'s record transfer if I set my mind to it.

Of course having said that now the headline for the link is different and not including the word record

And the first choice keeper for his national team is playing second fiddle for us.

Idk, I could see goalkeepers accepting a more careerist approach. Relatively lower wages, far fewer keepers are going to be stars, the majority are going to be second or third string and rarely play at club or national level. Willy’s never going to get a cap for Argentina and might have to take a paycut to play every week. At 35, it’s no surprise he’s happy to play out his career on the bench and get a good wage.

Love that the guy responsible for putting his hand up Orville’s bum is also responsible for finding a buyer for Sunderland.

I think he did a similar job at Newcastle so he’s obviously shit.

Yep, fair play to him I s’pose.

Sergio is now at just over 1 international cap for every 2 club appearances (88 vs. 175) :grinning:

It’s absolutely insane how ignorant football fans and the press in this country are about the quality of foreign leagues. Salah’s been on a par with pretty much any attacking mindfielder in this country bar Silva, De Bruyne and Eriksen since he left Chelsea, but apparently he’s a flop and Liverpool are overpaying…

Not seen that opinion anywhere? Seems a perfect fit for Klopp

He was pretty good for Chelsea, although he got virtually no game time.

…nor a 500k a year pay check

Would being under investigation for fraud cause problems if Utd get drawn against a Spanish in the Champions League?
