Watched Doctor Sleep last night. It is very dull but it makes up for it by being very long.

Also the plot is nonsense and the amount of fan service which then becomes taking a big dump on the Kubrick film is very tiresome.

I didn’t like it and would even say it is a ‘Bad Film’

:+1:

That’s something at least

It’s rubbish in book form too :+1:

I saw this at a film festival over the summer and found it reasonably amusing. From what I could tell from audience chat imemdiately afterwards, pretty much everyone else hated it however.

Fun fact: while first unit footage was shot in LA, re-shoots were done in Derby. Derby does not look particularly like a doppelganger for LA…

Got the day off and I’m not sure what to see today. Might go with Joker now that the discourse has died down, even though seeing it over Monos/Sorry We Missed You feels a bit silly.

Yes. Yes it is

Have you seen Last Black Man? If it’s on see that!

It’s on the “will definitely watch” list but the screenings this weekend are awkward : (

Surprised there hasn’t been more chat about it, both here and generally. Seemed to have a fair bit of buzz earlier in the year.

Voted for Monos but I highly recommend the excellent Beanpole on Mubi, who also released Zombi Child last month too. Might it be worth considering Mubi titles too?

Midsommar - turned it off after 40 minutes
Friday the 13th - turned it off after an hour

pretty good halloween.

Just commit eh.

Had you seen any of the f13 series before? I watched Part 4 (Final Chapter) randomly as my Halloween film

saw them all as a horror loving teen. revisited halloween not that long ago and thought it was great, friday the 13th is nowhere near on the same level.
