Yeah perhaps it’s not idyllic, but noteworthy, false nostalgia that’s probably the most effective part of it - it’s a sort of vicarious self mythologizing in reaction to the fiction of the film.

Rewatched all of LoTR over the last three nights and now I hate myself

The blu-ray arrived today, love Reichardt so much. Still hoping to see it in a cinema next year though :crossed_fingers:

Guessing his next film will be called Pentagon or Rhombus or something

Operation Avalanche is on iPlayer and is an interesting film

Just watched Wall•E for about the 100th time and honestly, could a film get any more 10/10

Liked it a lot at the time, i wonder what re-jigging/re-editing can bring to the table. If you think of it as 2 decent eps of The Sopranos strung together it’s pretty decent.

Hmmmm having watched it again recently it is… not good. I mean unless they’ve retcon’d Winona in or something (will definitely still watch it)

Watched Sorry to Bother You again the other night, and I’ve never found it hilariously funny, but I really love its personality/style/vision/whatever you wanna call it. So many great touches to it as well, like the way the pic of his Pa reacts to what’s happening.

Witness (1985) - incredibly boring despite a great cast, gave up half way
Jumanji (2017) - was ok for a popcorn film, Kevin Hart was great but I didn’t see the need to overly sexualise Karen Gillan and the need for a fake American accent

My mind read this as Sorry We Missed You and was slightly confused.

(Watched Sorry To Bother You for the first time recently and yeah, was amazing. Really felt like a creative mind totally set free)

The ending twist is one of my favourites, properly surprising

A whole 1 second of Sofia Coppola in that trailer. I did wonder if she’d been edited out completely.
