Suddenly realised that no one has mentioned Craig Bellamy yet

Torben Piechnik has been spoiled by ants climbing all over him and a best of wasps being too close.

He was prolific in France, averaged well over a goal every 2 games. Brescia and his odd damp stint at Liverpool are his only quiet spells (still 1 in 4 at the former)

Think his discipline is part of the issue as can see why a lot of managers wouldnt want to bring him into their team, but it’s sad to see his career limping along like this

There were games at City where he looked like he could be a genuine rival to Aguero and be a 100+ premier league goalscorer.

There were unfortunately also significant spells where he looked utterly disinterested and / or a total carthorse. Very much like Dzecko went too in fact.

Wasn’t his time at Brescia marked with him receiving racial abuse and his chairman publically having a go at him constantly?

Random/little-known amazing goals sub-thread? Had never seen this before, a nice mix of Crap 90s football and a genuinely world class finish, all played on a potato patch.

How would you describe Rodri’s role in the Spain team?

Obviously don’t watch Spanish football, but found him quite hard to work out for City. Looks like an absolute Rolls Royce of a player at times, but has gaping holes in his game.

Gut feeling is City have been playing him out of position, but maybe he’s just not got the quality around him. Sort of want to see him playing infront of a proper dark arts holding midfielder rather than having to do all that himself.

He’s played the best in the ‘Busquets’ role - ie as a true defensive mid sweeper type player dictating tempo. But obviously he’s not had the chance to do so until recently as Busquets has still been first choice. After last night I don’t think there’s any doubt as to who’s first choice now - Busquets’ legs have totally gone.

He plays much further up the pitch for City, doesn’t he?

Want to like this but want to keep it on 12 more
