I saw that too and thought it was weird, was guessing they meant dark features. Don’t think he’d be considered white in the UK but clearly isn’t black either
Think in general in Latin America there’s less race consciousness because people are more ethnically mixed so non-white people are less of a distinct ‘other’ category than in the UK, racial boundaries are more blurred. Also means there’s less public discussion about what terminology is acceptable etc. even though structural racism is still a huge factor in people’s lives
