November Politics Thread: Countdown To The Lizard Cull

23% of green voters are ‘neutral’ about trump!

This is probably the most based on Brexit election ever though.

Biggest takeaway from that is that only Lib Dem voters don’t know who Donald Trump is…

The Green party has been veering further towards the centre over the last couple of years while Labour shifts the opposite way. The Greens always had a contingent of soft conservatives who were passionate about the environment and they’ve been taking greater messaging of the party cause all the socialists are leaving for Labour.

Damn, Tory majority it is then :frowning:

Ignoring my absolute pessimism (sorry - it’s my way of approaching literally everything and every time I’ve been optimistic about the direction of an election/referendum it’s gone horribly), if Labour are the biggest party, can we have a mini party on the Friday in London

Nah, not even close. Labour’s running on a campaign filled with hope with a huge social movement putting in the work on the ground while also effortlessly succeeding on new media. Compare where we’re at now to where we were when we started in 2017. Elections aren’t won and lost on changing people minds, they’re won and lost on engaging with voters and getting the people who would otherwise stay home to turn out. That’s where Labour has its strength.

Well they only became “democrats” a relatively short while ago

Insert compulsory “Whigs off” joke here.

I’m flying out of the country on election day and I’m trying to set up a postal vote. Can this not be done electronically? The council site wants me to print off a form and post it to them. This seems very dated and not ideal considering the short time between announcement and election. Councils will probably be inundated with requests for these and other voting matters.

I do live in a Labour safe seat and I probably have enough time to vote before flying, but this has irked me a lot.

I admire your optimism, really tried with a couple of people last time and in the end they were just like “nah not going to vote” pure laziness

Most councils will let you scan and e-mail the forms back, but it does vary.

I instinctively like him, but I still struggle with the immigration obelisk and souvenir mug if I’m honest.

It’s not just me Bam. I remember in 2017 everyone was so down and even people like Owen Jones and Ash Sarkar thought we were screwed but this time there is so much optimism among Labour people. Everyone I know involved with Labour is buzzing for a fight, everyone you see on TV or on social media is completely up for it. This is our election to win, we just gotta put in the work to make it happen.
