yeah, I mean the problem is that the Tories are acting in Bad Faith about racism where I think that for the most part Labour are attempting to act in good faith but are damned if they do, damned if they don’t and I zeroed in on your comment because it was a bit ‘they’re both as bad as each other’
The actual problem on the left is …and historically has been …one of competing ideologies of ‘equality’ - class, race, religion, gender and so on. Hence why the only real solution is a comprehensively universal and intersectional one. AS cannot be effectively considered in isolation because it doesn’t exist in isolation, just like how feminism is ineffective and counter productive if it’s exclusively white feminism and/or transphobic and so on… and then there’s personal prejudice, structural prejudice & the feedback between them
I think both Labour & the Tories saying ‘we will have enquiries into all forms of prejudice’ might sound flat but what that actually means as an outcome is night & day between the two parties
I guess we agree on that right?
