I don’t know who Sia is because I’m old but why would an 11 year old like Madonna? Her output has been embarrassing for years (remember when she tried rapping?), it’s going to sound horrific to anyone who wasn’t even alive when she was good.

Does sometimes seem that you’re on a constant quest for indie points

Yeah that flummoxed me. That was just the opinion he gave - ‘Sia can sing really high but Madonna is rubbish’. I didn’t ask him if he liked Madonna. Was amazed he’d heard of her. Then he started talking about monsters from Harry Potter or something. No idea. Can you tell I don’t have kids?

I’d forgotten about those side-by-side tape boxes. I think computer games used to come in them as well.

You are clearly forgetting that in those days an ‘anthem’ was simply code for a song The Evening Session played a lot.

Popjustice picked their fave from each album

Some bleak times in the early 00s (Blunt! Keating!) but still quite a list.

I saw the 30 viewable on the link. I was going to say it was ok but then noticed Brother Beyond.

Had a quick browse of this blast night. Mixed bag, but bloody hell, ‘House of Love’ by East 17 is still amazing!
