Don’t like it. Will cook something nice at home, play some computer games, then go to bed at 10.

Same in Holland. It’s no fun.

New Year always seemed to be set up to be just fine - drinks in a local pub with a late license or round a friend’s place. But then got derailed with a couple of people pining for something special, something different, don’t be boring. Which meant cab rides into town, £20 to get in somewhere rammed, noisy and shit beers. We’ve had kids now so it is no option but staying in with other friends with kids, curry and some drinks in front of the TV. Which I am actually very happy with. At a convenient time we gather the little-uns into the lounge and play a clip on youtube of a past countdown and new year fireworks, then shuttle them off to bed. 2 year olds staying up til midnight is not going to be fun.

Hallo, I am a fan! Quite a few of my friends will have flat parties which are always nice. Just a bunch of cool people with some nice booze and food playing some chooons and getting the chat. Would much rather this than going anywhere near a pub or a city centre.

Genuinely amazing work!

This is definitely my kind of thing - alas, none of my social circle are in agreement.

Ah, that’s a shame  Are they more “Let’s go out” types?

Yeah - mostly. I’m pretty much alone in wanting an easy stress-free life.

eugh sounds like a nightmare

Pfft, who are these crazy cats?? Going out amongst the general public is never good. They must be informed! They don’t know what they’re missing!

I don’t think my sister is too big into the idea of that!

Ok well I guess just be aware it does take over a considerable amount of the city centre! Otherwise I guess @witches can help?

Will be treating it like any other night, but with added stress because of fireworks. Hopefully there won’t be many early and I will be asleep before midnight.

Ooo… umm, @pinkybrain any idea what you’re fancying doing? Honestly I’ve never done anything other than go to a friends for New Year. Other friends that have dared venture out tend to go to one of the nicer pubs in town, which you normally need to get a ticket for! I think. I can tell you the ones I like?

Going to a close friend’s for an early dinner with maybe 3-4 other people, then we’re going to a concert/club type thing from 8-11pm. Then out for the fireworks, of which I am a big fan.

Literally never been to a bar/club/pub etc on NYE, it’s always dinner/drinks round someone’s house, so this will be a first.

Which wanky thing

New Years is shite. I’m staying in…

Really don’t know. The night I usually go to isn’t happening as the pub which hosted it is now something else. Some of my mates are working. One of those suggested going to his bar, but it’s the other side of the city and there’s a fancy dress theme. Might just stay in, tbh.

would like to kiss someone in a really romantic moment at the new year thing.

Just wanted to share that nice dream with you
