formerly a safe SDLP seat but their terminal decline has seen it fall to the DUP at the last election, despite being known as the most diverse and progressive constituency in NI - they just managed to crawl to the top of the wreckage. hoping another party might come out on top this time but i’ll need to have a look at the numbers to influence my choice

Hard Brexit Tory “Environment Minister” with a majority of just 353 over Labour in a remain seat (0.6%)

Yellow diamonds are doing their best to cock things up and chip away at the Labour pro-Remain candidate, which is utter nonsense, so I’ll be taking a few days off to leaflet or whatever I guess.

At last we have a General Election and we won’t get a better chance of voting out this mendacious , hideous xenophobic government and bring some sanity to this country.

Confident we’ll bin her off. Going to be extremely gratifying.

  • Taking day off work / WFH and staying up
  • Stay up for a bit but will admit defeat
  • Going to bed before the exit poll

Don’t know much about her. I saw a few Westminster based Labour First and Progress twats try to make out that the challenge to her selection was “nasty” / “disgraceful” in of itself and her victory was a blow to Corbyn, but I’ve never seen anything to suggest she’s opposed to the Corbyn project. Going off nothing more than her twitter feed she seems to have a good relationship with the person who challenged her, and the leadership, and with neighbouring Labour MP Paul Sweeney who is a certified comrade :fist:

I have a full labour family but if i didn’t I’d be doing stuff to loved ones like “if you vote anyone that isn’t labour you’ll never be seeing your future children” stuff like ie that etc

She seems on board with the “Corbynite” messaging as well.

Every time I’ve stayed up for any election it’s been an absolute fucking trainwreck result. In 2017 I went to bed at 9:58 but forgot to turn my phone vibrate off and when it started going nuts at 10:01 I checked and… well… Then I ended up staying up late

As somebody who’s only lived in Stockport for 6 months, I have absolutely no opinion whatsoever on Ann Coffey, and afaik nobody in the local party seems to have anything particular against her, other than the fact she’s just been shit and not at all arsed for the last 4 years.

Think the capacity of ChUKTIG/independents to mount serious campaigns in this election could be one of the many weird deciding factors in this election, but that’s more for places like Broxtowe.

Don’t think anyone cares about Coffey, though.

I don’t know if I’ll have kids but there’s probably other leverage.

Lmao I’d never see any member of my family again if I did this. Thoughts and prayers for all my comrades with rubbish families  :prayer_beads:

Mine is a Lib Dem seat which could swing to SNP. The Lib Dem leaflets are relentlessly shit but the SNP don’t seem to have made much of effort in the few elections I’ve lived through here. Reckon the outcome will be entirely down to perception of national campaigns rather than any local campaigning.

They are all safely ensconced in safe Tory seats rather than endangering any Labour gains which is something, at least
