Is anyone going to make any real policy that has impacts beyond Brexit at any time soon?

Boris dodging a committee hearing and asking for a delay of 5 or 6 months.

Total brasser.

Haven’t got a clue pal, I’m mainly here to make mediocre jokes and find out what’s going on from the clever kids.

I see they’ve changed the message on the matrix signs on the Motorways and it’s irking me no end.

she’s a massive NI unionist though, she’s good mates with the DUP so no surprise she’d vote the same way as them. how she ended up in Labour still baffles me.

if you’re a renter in Northern Ireland your landlord usually has to pay the rates on the house which includes the water charges. 1-0 tenants

(obviously landlords can just factor this in to the rent but rent is pretty cheap here tbh)

in the republic they protested againt water charges HARD until the government gave in.

easier to just go to Schuh or somewhere surely

All the bottled water is selling out and I think I’ll have to wait to get to work in the southside tomorrow before I can properly brush my teeth

thought northsiders had to do this every day already

seriously though it’s probably just Pat Spillane trying to poison the Dublin team

Dawn Foster would certainly approve.

(The Twitter thread under that explains how it’s not 27%, FWIW.) But as I understand part of privatisation was about trying to generate cash to pay out on all the gold-plated pensions they’d given staff who hadn’t done the decent thing and died aged 64 as well as all the other shit.

I’ve been studying Irish Water as part of my course in college and it’s a fucking joke. The whole organisation should be scrapped at this point.

Those water protests were great though. Glad they worked.

What with all the climate/pollution issues and the sheer number of cars in the UK I’d have thought that the most profitable and least fundamentally bad privatisation would be roads

Why has that never happened in the UK when it’s pretty normal in Europe ?
