Occurs to me that one of the potential reasons for restoring the whip to that lot is that if he does actually end up remaining as PM in December he’s going to be wanting to replace that bunch of loons in his cabinet at the moment with people a bit more malleable.

Wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a judgement call on how much of a pain they’ll be as independents more than anything… Although that doesn’t explain the retiring ones.

I find it a bit of a stretch that anyone’s worried about Margot James or Greg Clarke being troublemakers.

This is going to become “my thing” isn’t it. (Although hopefully it won’t be actually tested in reality). But we need to remember that at his heart Jobis is an opportunist, not a rabid right-winger. He’s rabidly right wing when it suits him personally.

I’d put an actual coalition at way longer odds than that. Confidence and supply to a minority gov is the much clearer likelihood, numbers permitting.

Watching the HoC live. With the deputy speaker presiding. It’s a fucking shambles. Like some clueless deputy teacher has turned up without a clue what’s going on.

The Independent Group for Change MP, Chris Leslie , tried to move an unexpected amendment

Of course he did.

Sounds like he just stood up at the wrong time or something
