I am sad to report that Dick Braine has resigned as UKIP party leader.

Tories dropping like (particularly shit-covered) flies today. Alan Duncan and Peter Heaton-Jones the latest to say they won’t be standing for re-election. I dread to think what the next generation of despicable Tory c**ts is like…

Are they just picking names from a ‘Tory Backbench’ generator now?

I really hope a lot of these are surprise standing-downs, and they haven’t been preparing by incubating a new set of pristine younger generation tories which are now ready to be released onto the electorate

This was absolutely my high point of the last election:

Surely can’t be long before the robots at that place kill all the engineers and initiate the primary protocol. The ones that can open doors must be itching to already.

Lidington stepping down.
We will never see a de facto deputy of his kind again

Good Enough is the biggest socialist anthem of the last 25 years.

A lot of the time, there’s a tribal element to people’s politics where they’ll just take it from their family.

It’s not a good/bad thing, so much as a part of life - you mimic your parents, and take certain things to be self-evident.

Grew up in Tory countryside, and the number of people that voted Tory just Because was remarkable. Further to that, some of the kindest, most community-spirited, hard-working, non-racist people I know (for the most part) would then spout “Corbyn’s a marxist ennee”, or even vote for Brexit.

To these kind of people, it’s not a political view, it’s a rock they’re mentally/emotionally tied to, so in the end I just decided to be mates with them/try to spread the Good Word of the Absolute Boy.

I know others would take a harder line, but there’s no right/wrong answer to this IMO. It’s very much “it depends” and a personal thing.

sounds like a thankless task and I’m glad it hasn’t made you change your own views

If anyone’s feeling tortured by the prospect of a tactical vote, spare a thought for these lads who are having to vote Labour while hoping Labour don’t get in.
