I have been affirmatively hooged!

Nobody ever seems to talk about anything other than Ireland in relation to this deal. So, if it is the same as May’s deal, how come this is acceptable to the hard Brexiters who previously stated that May’s deal wasn;t really leaving the EU?

Hoog+1

Because they don’t actually have any principles.

You now have one credit of Hoog to spend on any wild unconfirmed notion of your choosing.

the backstop had no defined end date… which leads to ‘awlays in the EU’

Presumably any referendum amendment would also involve something to do with ensuring an extension is asked for and permitted, which would (realistically) be what would happen.

Farage not into this, and whipping up some delay chat.

Lovely stuff.

Corbyn said it was shit. Thank god. I hope it fails to pass. Jesus.

What time is the vote on Saturday? If it is in the middle of staring at football scores its going to be especially fun. Might go to the pub for it.

The ex-Tory Remainers seem to be coming round to Johnson’s Hard Brexit deal:

Whatever, still getting voted down.

An awful lot of “worse than T-May’s deal” chat springing up now.

Smashing smashing scenes.

Other than the brutal, bloody, riots on Saturday, its all going quite well, isn’t it?

DUP are cited by Bloomberg as voting against it, so there’s 10

I’ve had proper angst this morning that this might just pass. This is a relief surely the ERG are going to go with the DUP. Please you bastards for once.

I guess it was always going to be the case, but man this deal is getting an absolute pumping on twitter.

I’m sure people will be doing it a lot over the next day or two, but has anyone calculated what the breakdown of voting on MV4 could be? For MV3 (not sure that’s the best comparison but hey ho) it was:

286 for
344 against
4 abstains

So Boris Johnson needs a swing of 58 in his favour. By wikipedia’s count, there’s 55 members of the ERG. So if every ERG member voted for it, he’d only be short by 3.

Of those 344 against, 34 were tories. 1 of which was Pritti Patel, who will surely vote in favour of a deal now.

Hot take: It’s gonna be close I guess?
