its weird I was at that statistics gig but don’t recall any of that, I remember they came on to ‘america fuck yeah’ he was in some kind of tracksuit and dropped to the ground to do push ups, then they started playing the intro to sweet child of mine, stumbled through 6 songs and bits of covers. don’t remember the holocaust stuff or the stuff about london at the end, I just remembered a really drunk band messing about

Very tame compared to the above (great thread btw) but some girl proposed to Tim Kinsella when I saw Owls a couple of years ago at the Brudenell, he invited her onstage and said yes and she gave him one of her rings.

I remember seeing Les Savy Fav at ATP, and arriving just before they were about to start. I hadn’t known of them for long, so wasn’t sure what they looked like. The roadies were on stage setting things up, and some guy was in the middle of the stage getting his haircut. I couldn’t tell if it was someone from the last band or maybe from Les Savy Fav. Carried on getting his haircut right up until they started, and of course, it was Tim Harrington.

Best bit of that gig was Tim creating table based stepping stones by getting the audience to get tables and put them down in the audience in front of him so he could walk about the place on top of them. They made a fan for life that set.

Yep, this was in the Thekla a few years back. Really good show that, I think it was the last of their tour and it sold out, felt like the end of term party or something. Shame that guitar player moved on really.

Had a “mate” at school who would do this at any opportunity to liven up a party/nightclub/whatever. I guess he wasn’t in a band though.

Was also at that Low EoTR show (seems like half of DiS was there).
Yer man Bob Log III drinking boob whiskey (whiskey that has been carefully stirred by a - male or female - boob).
Seen a few good meltdowns - Evan Dando really drunk, finishing his gig by jumping offstage to fight an audience member.

A couple years ago there was a local band in Atlanta called Anal Christ and the front man was this big intimidating punk dude named Jody. He would get wasted and wield a knife during the set and get uncomfortably close to everyone with it. Then he would get naked and stick the mic up his ass. Venues started making him bring his own mic. It was great!

It’s not the oddest thing I’ve seen a band do on stage, but I did once see a dwarf climb onto the stage and attack the singer, due to some insult directed at a woman friend of the dwarf I believe. It was really an odd sight.

They used to do it as mclusky although it’s always been the drummer playing while the rest of the band take the kit to pieces.

I think Shellac used to do that too.

I was at that gig. Highlight was the security ripping the drum from 3-4 people’s hands like it was nothing. Wouldn’t fuck with her
