I’m finally trying it now. Apparently Karma Police and Fitter Happier go back to back.

It all seems like bullshit, but I’m happy to listen to these two albums this afternoon, especially if there’s the potential for a few interesting moments.

Did you do Kama police with fitter happier?

I did not.

Yeah that’s supposed to be how to make it work, I think there’s a YouTube vid?

Don’t think they’d play the album in full tbh.

Me neither, but I remain OPTIMISTIC.

(Radiohead joke)

Also, they played In Rainbows in full shortly after its release at Rough Trade, so it’s not like they’ve never done anything like that before.

Not much at all to go on, I know, but still.

being the operative here. would be radiohead fully embracing the role of heritage band which i just can’t see

But still.

i’d have thought they’re more likely to do an In Rainbows thing seeing as they’ve played it in full before and most of the tracks are still in their set. but then its also the anniversary of their big 97 glastonbury show.

i don’t think they’ll do either though. they’ll just play lots of songs from OKC like they often do at festivals anyway. can’t imagine them ignoring the new album.

in general i mean, if they were gonna do a full album show, not at glastonbury. doing In Rainbows in full at glastonbury would be a weird choice.

The actual state of this

brilliant record.

Elastica >>> The Bends

I’m not sure if I respect or despise how they put in a bit of effort to make it seem like it’s going to be a proper article before just plummeting into the hitherto unexplored frontier that lies beneath the barrel, their vessel disintegrating into a negative-one-laugh-per-minute Buzzfeedian content fart.

This is one of my favourite 90s albums but Pitchfork are gonna make me resent it with their hyperbole and revisionist history about it. About how everything else sucked and album X when it came out at the time was a saviour or whatever they go on about. The sad thing is that the journalists in general can’t describe WHY a song is good in terms of its sound, they have to make up a narrative around the song to make it seem special with hindsight.

Anyways, I think I’m just about done with them, OKC was a great album and I don’t wanna roll my eyes at it by reading more of Pitchfork.
