I have been working on saving tabs to bookmarks in anticipation of my phone dying and taking my brain with it

it’s a matter of wanting to check out thousands of things but being broken and not having the capacity for stuff so much of the time, really

plus other aspects of my madness, I suppose :eyes:

like, I have a ravenous appetite for all sorts, but I’ve been in a bad way most of the time for over ten years

which has impaired my ability to check things out

so when my brain sparks into life, I remember things, feel compelled in hundreds of directions at once

so I’ll open a bunch of tabs from one tab

but one thing or another will sidetrack me or shut me down

eventually? hundreds and hundreds of tabs

I only have as many tabs open as I need for each session

Got 60+ tabs at the moment, generally is between 40 and 70 depending on the day.

Might try and increase the average now I know it annoys people.

I always intend to read the pages I open, and I worry I’ll forget to if I just file them away

then I forget and lose my place anyway

exactly. once it’s in your bookmarks it might as well be gone forever. it’s still open cos you intend to read it in the next few days (but then don’t)

I’ve got loads of tabs open because I opened all the links in the albums of the year lists thread, but they take so bloody long to read through and how many times do I need to read a different blurb about mostly the same albums so now it feels like a task I’ve set myself that I’ll never get through and I’m procrastinating and I should just close them all, but now that I’ve made it like work I’ll feel a weird kind of guilt if I do

at least this way, you are somewhat likely to scroll back and have something catch your eye, right?

also: I like to leave tabs open near the tab that spawned them, or near tabs I opened on the same tip

context, so my brain isn’t just presented with something at random that I might not remember why I had it there
